Glyco Barrier's Eight Botanicals, Explained
Updated 2026
Glyco Barrier combines eight named botanicals. Here's a plain-English guide to what each does — and the things the label leaves out.
Berberine
The headline ingredient and the most-studied compound in the glucose category. Included to support carbohydrate and glucose metabolism. Note: it can lower blood sugar and interacts with diabetes medication.
Gymnema, Chromium & the cinnamon group
Gymnema Sylvestre is traditionally linked to reducing sugar cravings; Chromium Picolinate to normal carbohydrate metabolism; and Ceylon Cinnamon, Bitter Melon and Banaba Leaf are each studied individually for glucose metabolism.
Juniper Berry & Licorice Root
Juniper is a traditional antioxidant botanical; Licorice Root is traditional too — but can affect blood pressure, potassium and fluid balance, so it's a safety consideration as much as an ingredient.
The number that's missing
Glyco Barrier names all eight but doesn't publish the milligram amount of each. For Berberine, dose is decisive — research uses specific amounts — so without them you can't confirm the formula matches the studies.
And a label-consistency note
Some similarly-named products and marketing have listed different ingredients from what's on the bottle. Read the Supplement Facts panel on the product you actually receive, and buy only from the official store.
